Theresa Marquis
Theresa Marquis has been an educator and coach for 16 years. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University and earned her Master's degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
Her coaching career began in Silsbee ISD, where she taught at the junior high and coached sub-varsity volleyball, basketball, and track at Silsbee High School for five years. After that, she spent the next ten years in Spring ISD at Wells Middle School and in Conroe ISD at McCullough Junior High School. During her time at both schools, she advanced to the position of head coach for both volleyball and basketball, often in the same year. Theresa has made a lasting impact through her leadership, understanding of the game, and commitment to fostering a positive culture within the basketball programs.
Now, she is excited to continue the Highlander winning tradition as a freshman coach at The Woodlands High School. Coaching allows her to combine her passion for basketball with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with student-athletes. Working with freshman girls provides a unique chance to help them develop both their skills and confidence as they transition into high school athletics. Coaching also challenges her to continue learning and evolving, ensuring growth alongside the coaching team. When she is not coaching, she loves spending time with her husband and dog, Bailey.
